Rice Recipes

Rice with fried almonds:


 2 Cups Basmati rice / 400g

100g Almonds blanched and fried

2 Tbsp. Argan oil

1 Tsp. salt

½ Tsp. Cinnamon


Wash the rice thoroughly with cold water a couple times. Drain the water away. Add 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil on high heat, then lower the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Move off of the heat and set aside for another 10 minutes, then drain the remaining water.

You will know the rice is perfectly cooked when the grains have puffed up and expanded lengthwise.

Grind the fried almonds until they reach the size of an uncooked rice grain. The almonds in the bottom of the grinder will be grinded to a sand texture, and that’s ok.

Add the grinded almonds, salt and cinnamon to the rice and fluff with a fork to work the spices in. Then add Argan oil and fluff a little more. Serve warm with other dishes, or cold with a cup of fat free milk for a light dinner.
