First you bite through the crunchy sea salt, then the rich spicy chocolate warms-up your mouth, and you chew on the fresh, sweet and juicy figs. If you have a sweet tooth, you will certainly enjoy this desert!
½ Kg Mission figs
1 cup of Ghirardelli dark chocolate (170)
½ Tsp. Cinnamon powder
¼ Tsp. Ginger powder
½ Cup chopped pecans (80g)
½ Tbsp. Sea salt
Wash the figs gently under running water. Dry them with a paper towel.
Place the chocolate in a bowl, put it in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir it for a few seconds until completely melted, add the spices, stir until mixed in.
Hold each fig by the stem, dip it in the chocolate until covered, and allow the excess of chocolate to drop off. Either roll the sides of the fig in chopped pecans or place it directly on the parchment paper (over a flat tray) and sprinkle it with some sea salt.
Place the chocolate covered figs in the freezer for 4-6 minutes. Serve them immediately or transfer the to the refrigerator until served.
